In a historic ceremony at the Government House in Jalingo yesterday, Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, appointed Barrister Sopiya Ahmadu Gboshi as the new First Class Chief of Takum. This marks a significant milestone after nearly three decades of a vacant throne.
During the ceremony, Governor Kefas urged the people to embrace reconciliation and inclusivity during this transition period, acknowledging the cooperation of the two ruling families. He emphasized the importance of peace and harmony in building a prosperous society.
In addition to the appointment of the First Class Chief, two Third Class Chiefs, Tsohon Takum and Kur Garbabi Chiefdom, were also presented with their Staff-of-Office during the ceremony.
Governor Kefas reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting peace and harmony, stating, “As a government, we will continue to walk the path of peace, in our bid to have a harmonious society.”
