Adamawa State House of Assembly, on Monday, confirmed 6 nominees for the appointment as chairman and members of the Bureau for Public Procurement and Fiscal Responsibilty Commission respectively. News Platform
Those confirmed for BPP include Mrs. Martina Abba as Chairman, Hon. Hassan Gaigama, Hon. Joab Gambo Gundiri, Hon. Rukaiya Hayatu, and Peter Gowon Joel as Members, while Hon. Kwada Peter, has been confirmed as member of FRC.
The confirmation followed the consideration of the report of the Adhoc Committee on the Screening and Confirmation constituted by the assembly and headed by Rt. Hon. Pwamwakeno Mackondo of Numan constituency.
Earlier, while presenting the report of his committee, Rt. Hon. Mackondo, told the assembly that the screening of the nominees was conducted transparently and thoroughly.
Mackondo, said that all the nominees had presented their credentials in line with the requirements for appointment and also demonstrated significant experience in public sector.
According to the former Deputy Speaker, the nominees articulated their plans to enhance the efficiency and transparency as well as due process in the state while politing their affairs.
The lawmaker pointed out that all nominees had pledged their commitment to observe ethics and highlighted their personal track records in promoting transparency and accountability, and urged the assembly to confirm them.
While moving a motion for the adoption of the report, the Majority Leader of the assembly, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno of Demsa constituency, commended the committee for a job well done.
After the consideration and adoption of the report, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, who presided the plenary, announced the confirmation of the nominees and directed that the resolution be communicated to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
