Fintiri Accepts Call to Contest Adamawa North Senate Seat

Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has accepted calls by stakeholders in Adamawa North Senatorial District to contest for a seat in the Senate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This is contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, on Thursday in Yola.

According to the statement, the governor’s decision followed extensive consultations and what it described as overwhelming appeals from stakeholders across the district.

Fintiri is expected to formally declare his intention on May 2 at the Government Lodge in Mubi.

The event is scheduled to hold at 10:30 a.m. and will bring together supporters and political stakeholders from the five local government areas of the zone—Madagali, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South and Maiha, collectively referred to as the M5.

The governor commended the people of the district for their resilience, unity and commitment to peace, noting that their support over the years had remained unwavering.

He expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to serve with humility, responsibility and renewed dedication.

Fintiri also assured the people of Adamawa North of his commitment to advancing their collective aspirations if elected to represent them in the Senate.
