Governor Yahaya Hosts UN DSG Amina Mohammed in Gombe

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, on Monday received Hajiya Amina Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), at the Government House in Gombe.

Welcoming the esteemed guest, Governor Yahaya praised Amina Mohammed’s global leadership and her unwavering commitment to sustainable development and impactful policymaking.

“Your contributions remain a source of pride for Gombe State and Nigeria. You have inspired many to pursue excellence in governance and humanitarian service,” he stated.

The governor further highlighted how her efforts in the UN have positively influenced policies that drive progress in various sectors, particularly in education, healthcare, climate action, and gender equality. He acknowledged her role in championing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promoting policies that benefit marginalized communities across the globe.

Hajiya Amina Mohammed, in her remarks, commended Governor Yahaya’s administration for its strides in good governance, economic development, and infrastructural transformation in Gombe State.
